Precious in His sight....

I took Blake to his 4 month appointment today. He is weighing 15pounds and 3oz. He is about 24 1/2 inches long.

Something happened this past weekend where I saw a "friend" of the family from church. She mentioned how she had recently seen Blake and added a comment in there that took me back by surprise...she said "Blake has a big head" Wow...what do you say in response to that? So I said..."I like your hair"

Anyways, at the doctor today, I asked the doctor about Blake's head...she didn't mention it to me, but I asked her about it. She looked it over, measured it for the second time and suggested that maybe Jason and I would want to take him to a specialist. Blake has a flat head in the back and one way to correct it is by wearing a helmet for a couple weeks or months.

My heart broke when I thought of my little boy having to wear a helmet at such a young age...but most of all, when I thought of the comment that the adult made to me about Blake's head...that broke my heart...and to think that if an adult would say something about his head, then peers could also make fun of him too.

Needless to say, as much as I don't want my son to have to wear a helmet I know it's what will help him down the road.

Thank goodness that Blake is precious in not only my eyes, but he is so precious is Jesus' eyes.

these are so random

Some thoughts on the day of my sister's wedding:

As we were at the rehearsal for Janna's wedding, I was emotional (surprised?). Anyways, I not only realized what an adult she has become but what a beautiful confident woman she is. She was so laid back yesterday at the rehearsal as things started to unfold and some glitches occurred...I was so proud of her. I think she is starting to realize the importance of her day. It isn't about how smoothly things go, but about expressing and committing her love to JP. Janna got up at the rehearsal dinner and sang JP a song...she sounded so amazing! I always knew she had a great voice, but she really did do a great job!

As I saw my dad getting ready to practice walking Janna down the aisle, my heart just sank and memories and tears filled my eyes. By the way, rosie started crying before anyone got in the chapel and the violinist was pr acting. All the bridesmaids were standing and talking and out of the corner of my eye I saw my dad just trying to soak everything in standing back and his leg shaking back and forth. I went over there and gave him a huge long hug, I said dad, this is your last girl to give away...he said sharon this is killing me. He is excited for Janna and sees her so happy and in love, but to give away what you have raised, sacrificed, and cherished is so hard. I told him at least she is living right beneath you so you guys won't be far.

I also realized on janna's wedding rehearsal day how much I love my husband. When I heard the vows being practiced I realized my love or Jason and my commitment to him was reestablished for me.

Ahhh today is the wedding day, I am ready for tears, laughter, and to dance the night away. Janna will be a beautiful bride and I love her and couldn't be happy for her and JP! Cheers to the both of them!

He found it

Precious Blake found his thumb today and was sucking on it...too cute for me. He also has been enjoying his saucer for about a week now. I had tears in my eyes the first time he sat it, that same day we packed up the bassinet and put it away until the next baby. I began to put Blake's newborn clothes in the back of the closet, he is done with those. It's crazy to think my son isn't considered a "newborn" anymore. He is chatting, laughing, and smiling so much more....we interact with one another...I just can't wait till we can carry on a conversation together!

Blake's Day

Yesterday Blake was dedicated at our home church. We had such a great time with family and friends who supported us!

They had a little reception at church for Blake and during that time we were able to get our picture taken professionally.

We were honored that Pastor Ron was able to hold Blake upon our request. The grandparents joined Jason and I on stage as we committed to raising Blake into a christian home.

After the dedication we all went to lunch at Biaggis and enjoyed both sides of our families.

Gosh, another milestone in Blake's life. I am so grateful to the family that I am a apart of...there are so many people who are going to love Blake unconditionally and endlessly.

Itty bitty

So we were going a hundred miles an hour earlier tonight to try and prepare for our trip to MN and Blake became VERY fussy and crying quite a bit. He then began to rub his left ear and cry. The last few days he hasn't been eating as much and has had some...let's say interesting diapers. Jason knew I needed a brake from Blake and so he took him to the doctor. In the doctor's office Blake was playing and having a great time. The doctor took Blake's temp and looked in his ear...he said that Blake had an itty bitty redness and ear infection.

I am so glad we caught this before we headed way up north to MN.

I read my Bible yesterday and am reminded that Jesus is the same today, yesterday, forever. The Jesus I read about in my Bible and the miracles he did is the same Jesus that I serve today. I love it!

It reminds me of that old song by third day...

Which reminds me...Bethany and Janna we need to do a music video before Janna gets married!
