First Mom's Day

I had my first mother's day. I woke up fed Blake, got him dressed for church, took at 5 min. shower, got myself ready, packed the diaper bag, received a card and gift from Blake and out the door we went to church. It was fun to sit by my mom, dad, and siblings in church. Blake did well, my dad held him as he stared quietly and contently at the lights above him. Later that day we went to my mom and dad's house for lunch. I considered the next day real mother's day. Jason took Blake for me while I went and worked out and did some errands. That was a true treat, and he even watched him when I got home. We took a walk later that night and then I went to bed.

Blake is now more awake and is cooing a lot more. While he is in his swing he looks at the mobile and smiles at it. He lifts his head and still hates being on his tummy.

Tomorrow I go to school to visit my students. I told the principal that I would not be returning to school next year. That was very hard for me to do, but I know it's the best thing for Blake and myself. I would miss Blake too much if I went back to teaching.

Happy 1st Mother's Day!!! I love that picture of you two. He looks so happy and is getting so big.

That is so nice that Jason just let you get out for a while and go to bed a little earlier.

So...no more school?! I don't think I could go back to work either. I would miss him/her way too much. Plus I think I would be affraid of someone else not taking care of him/her the correct way while I am gone.

Love yah girl and have a great week!

You two look adorable, Sharon:-) Happy 1st Mother's Day...I think Blake is bigger than Kayla! I would not be working either if my job required me to stay home during the week. This weekend nursing thing works okay because I know Kayla is either with me during the week or Brian on the weekends. I watch too many Dateline specials with those hidden nanny cameras to leave Kayla with another person full time!

Sharon -- I hated that I didn't get to speak to you on Sunday. I was also so disappointed that you didn't win the newest mom prize, we were all rooting for you from the Dodd/Perdue corner! You looked so cute. I'm glad you had a good first mother's day. Before long you won't even remember what CCS was, my dear! :)

What a special mother's day you had! That Jason is so good!

YOUR kids will love seeing you! I know that it was such a hard decision for you to make, but I applaud you for keeping the big picture in mind. Blake will love you even more for that!

YOUR kids are going to love to see you and Blake tomorrow. Big decisions like not going back to teaching had to be so hard. I applaud that you thought about the big picture!
