Is it made with....

Today I made homemade low fat pumpkin bread. I really thought it was yummy and it was 122 calories per slice and .5 grams of fat. So I was excited for Jason to come home and have a piece.

As Jason was relaxing on the couch with Blake, I cut him two pieces of pumpkin bread and put it on his lap. He takes a bite and says: "Is this made with baby food?" How sad is that, my husbands first thought is if I make something low fat it is with baby food. Well...can't blame him...if it's lowfat I will try and make it no matter what it calls for.

Anyways..needless to say...Jason loved the bread so much he was licking his fingers afterwards...and to think it wasn't even made with baby food this time!

I take for granted

So there is something that i take for granted and need to acknowledge and be grateful for. More times than not, my husband will tell me after I have cleaned the house how great it looks and how he appreciates me doing it. On top of that usually after he eats dinner he will tell me he appreciates me making him dinner and will say thank you.
I just realized the other day that I need to acknowledge him saying those things and am so glad that he is a man who sees my effort in taking care of him and the home while he works.
In return though, I have to say one of my weaknesses is thanking him and affirming my appreciation for his hard work.

To my husband who DOES read my blog...I know I need to affirm you more and am glad that you are patient with me as I realize this.

Food and then some

My sister wanted me to post this recipe:

1 can of white northern beans (slightly drain)
1 can of diced tomatoes (14.5oz or so and don't drain)
Garlic
Olive oil

Saute the garlic and olive oil...as much garlic as you would like..i had about five cloves.

Add the can of white northern beans and diced tomatoes. Simmer for about 20 min adding salt, pepper, and garlic salt (don't have to have the garlic salt..just a bonus)

Taste periodically till the tomatoes are soft and cooked. Don't cook too long cause beans can get mushy. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.

The end...grandma bea also puts in bowtie pasta in there too...cook the pasta separate. I didn't have the pasta in there last night when I made it.

Jason said he didn't want any because he doesn't like beans...I begged and begged him to try it and he really liked it.

Easy and very in expensive too...nice for cool weather that is coming up.

Blake had his 6 months appointment today. He is in the 50th percentile for height..I think 26inches and 75th for weight..18pounds 1 oz...and 90th for his head measurement.

Big boy we have and so cuddly too...I love it!

I went on a date

Last night a friend of mine from work watched Blake and Jason and I got to go on a date together. I got all dressed up and even put my nice perfume on. My husband looked so handsome in his green short sleeve pocketed shirt. We headed out to downtown Naperville and walked the streets hand in hand. We went to a restaurant called Heaven on Seven or Seven on Heaven...don't remember. But it was a cute little Cajun restaurant. It was kind of squished so Jason and I had to sit next to one another instead of across from one another. During the evening dinner we laughed, reminisced, and often gave reassuring touches. The hand holding, the conversation, and the sweet glances from Jason made me feel like we were dating all over again. I missed Blake when we were gone, but it was so good for Jason and I to go out and enjoy what we love about one another....each other's company and friendship. I felt so connected and bonded with him. I am so glad that the Lord blessed us with one another and cannot wait till our next date night!

Useless Information

I have a book of useless of information and in honor of baseball and the cubs doing so well I decided to list some interesting information about baseball:

**** 56 million people go to a major league baseball game every year

**** A baseball has 108 stiches

**** Babe Ruth wore a cabbage leaf under his hat to keep his head cool. He changed it every two innings.

**** Before 1859, baseball umpires used to sit in rocking chairs behind home plate

**** The first formal rules for playing baseball required the winning team to score 21 runs.
