Jason and I read a Psalm and Proverb for each week of Pregnancy we are in. Last week we were in our 13th week, so we read from Proverbs 13. I sometimes think about how it will be hard to discipline my child. There will be times where I don't want to give a consequence but I know that I have to. I read this verse, and I hope I can remember it when my child gets to the age of needing to learn right and wrong:
Proverbs 13: 24
If you refuse to discipline your son, it proves you don't love him; for if you love him you will be prompt to punish him.

Disciplining is hard. I remember mom saying, "This hurts me as much as it hurts you." I was like, "How is that possible." But, now I've expereinced it for myself. There are times after I've had to discipline Parker, that I've cried myself. But, I know it's the right thing.
I like that idea a lot, a psalm and proverb each week!!!! We've talked about how it can be challenging to discipline and stay consistent in the classroom, I think the same holds true for your own kids. As we have both worked with many children, discipline is so important because we have seen what happens when parents don't follow through with their kids. Despite how hard it will be, it pays off!
Sharon - I think about this all the time, maybe we can help each other out on this one b/c the thought of disciplining Bella kills me. She is so precious but I can tell that it won't be long before I'm going to have to start, she is already throwing little fits when I take something from her, but thankfully it's really innocent now so I don't have to do anything but pet her. Gosh, being a parent is hard!
